The year’s best camera in 2022

The year 2022 is quickly coming to a conclusion. This year has seen some great new products hit the market, particularly in the lens, body, and accessory categories. But which camera has emerged as the best this year? Check out the results of the Pixel Awards to find out which products and services are deemed the best in their respective categories.

It’s hard to believe that another year is almost over. In my experience, in terms of procuring new gear, it was a reasonably peaceful environment. The lack of activity isn’t to my liking, but I’m confident I’ll make up for it in the new year with some outrageously pricey acquisitions. And yes, a few items have caught my attention recently, the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens being one of them.

However, given that it is not a newly released lens, I am unsure whether or not it will be included in the yearly gear awards that vloggers, bloggers, and other groups associated with the business like participating in.

And with that, we have arrived at this fantastic movie produced by Chelsea and Tony Northrup. In it, they go through a list of honors that they bestow on recipients of their annual Pixel Awards. Even if it isn’t an official ceremony, the Northrups indeed do wield some influence in the photography business, and it’s always interesting to hear their view on gear, even if I don’t always agree with what they say. Northrup have 1.56 million followers on their YouTube channel.

In this video, they discuss several categories, including but not limited to the camera of the year, innovation of the year, the lens of the year, and course, smartphone camera of the year. What are their thoughts on the second option? The Canon EOS R10 camera. Take a look at the video and let me know your thoughts once you’ve watched it. What do you think about the option, given that it costs $779?
